35 1/2 Weeks

I haven't really kept up with the blog. I ashamed....

But, on a happy note, I've almost made it to 36 weeks! That means I am on the final stretch.... won't be long now. It amazes me to think about the fact that every single day, my baby boy is a little more prepared to deal with life out here with us. I don't think that I'll make it all the way to my due date before I deliver. I'm having so many practice contractions, his head is down, I'm huge... all signs point to a nice, easy delivery at around 37 weeks. :) of course, that could be me dreaming..

My belly is huge! Here is a picture....
Isn't that crazy? I feel like I've run out of room.
Well, I'll try to keep up with this better for the last few weeks. And then I'll post baby pictures all the time. :)

24 Weeks!!

I went to the doctor today! She told me that I need to make sure that I'm eating enough. I've only gained a total of 3 pounds so far during this pregnancy...
But the baby is growing right on track and my belly is definitely getting bigger. :)

She was trying to hear the heartbeat and Lennon kept moving around. She said "Well, considering he's running away from me, I'm pretty sure he's fine." But she kept chasing him and eventually caught him and we got to hear the heartbeat again, which I never get tired of.

I got blood work at the beginning of the appointment, but I won't hear the results until later this week. They are gunna call me... hopefully not at the end of the day on a Friday with an ambiguous answer.

On another side note: It looks like I will be delivering at Methodist Hospital in Mansfield. A very nice hospital, so I'm happy.

Sooooo... the strangest part of the appointment was that I have another appointment in 4 weeks, and then I switch to every 2 weeks!! Agh!! I can't believe I'm that far along! Time is going to fly by after that....

I'll post again once I get results back!

Moving right along....

So I hit a big milestone in four days.... I'm officially 6 months pregnant! It does not seem like it has been that long...

Now, you would think that being 6 months along would mean that I have three months left, right? WRONG! Apparently the entire world lies on a regular basis and pregnancy actually lasts 10 months. That's right, I'll tell you the truth, 10! 40 weeks= 10 months. So I still have 4 months to go, but that's probably a good thing since I still have lots of things around here to get ready.

I go to the doctor again on Monday for this month's appointment. This week is my test for gestational diabetes. The process is ridiculously complicated.... I have to:
1. Wake up and not eat, but exactly one hour before my appointment time I have to drink a nasty drink...
2. I have to drink the entire drink in five minutes, completely....
3. Record the exact time that I finish drinking the gross drink...
4. Arrive to my appointment 15 minutes early so that I can get my blood drawn exactly one hour after I finish drinking the drink.
I hope that I remember all that... my brain hasn't been working very well lately.

One new development on the pregnancy front is that I feel Lennon move all the time now! It is the coolest and the strangest thing at the same time...

Jason has felt him move a couple of times too, which is awesome.

We are looking forward to when you can start to watch him move around from the outside. We've watched videos of that on YouTube and it's awesome!

Hopefully I'll remember to post again before next month's appointment.... :)

19 Weeks! Time has flown by! I can't believe it!

It's official! We are having a boy!!! He is beautiful!

Jason keeps saying that his son isn't beautiful, he's handsome or awesome or something like that. Then the other day, when I called Lennon beautiful again... Jason said "Okay, fine, he's your son so you can call him beautiful. But anyone else does it, we're gunna fight." LOL.

I'm going to try to post a video of the sonogram, but I can't get it to load onto facebook, so I'm not sure it will work on here...

But here are some pictures:

This picture is the proof that we are having a little boy... pretty obvious. :)

I am already very proud of our son. He scared us a little bit after the first ultrasound, or really, the doctor scared us. Said she saw something that wasn't there. Maybe it was there and a weekend of prayers made it disappear. Either way, I am happy. We have a healthy son.

13 weeks and a gut... this is ridiculous.

So... it seems as my uterus is growing it has decided to push all that extra fat I was hiding underneath my ribcage into plain view. I'm not "showing" and I don't have a cute "preggy belly," I have a gut....

And I used to be able to suck it in, but no more. My muscles cramp up when I try to suck it in for too long.

So, I give up. If you see me... No, I'm not showing. I'm just getting fatter. Give it a few weeks and I'll be showing for real and all will be well.

What's really sad is that I've technically lost 8 pounds since I got pregnant due to this lovely overwhelming nausea. Only a pregnant woman can throw up everything she eats and get fatter at the same time. Ugh.

I took belly pictures yesterday because it was my officially 13 weeks day, but I'm not posting them. With my shirt down, I look pregnant. With my shirt up..... not good.

I'm going to go take a shower and puke.... my normal morning routine. Talk to you later!

12 Weeks!!

I'm am officially 12 weeks pregnant today! According to some, today marks the end of my first trimester. According to others, I still have one week to go.

We had a doctor's appointment today! We didn't get to see our baby again, but we did get to hear the heartbeat for the first time! The doctor had trouble finding the heartbeat at first, and then when she found it, the baby kept moving out of the way. That's what Jason does when I try to wake him up when he's sleeping, too. : ) The heartbeat was a strong 160 bpm.

To celebrate hitting our twelve week mark (silly, I know), we bought a "Bringing home Baby" outfit. It will be the outfit the baby wears home from the hospital. Originally, we were going to buy a gender neutral outfit, but then we found these on sale:

I love them! We plan to just donate the one for the gender that we don't have...
In case it is hard to read, they say "Cute thanks to Mom and Dad."
I am so excited about becoming a mommy but I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by. I need to get to work on the nursery.....

Belly Pictures

I am going to post belly pictures on this blog, so if you are offended by seeing a female waistline (or lack of one), don't read this post.

I took a "before" belly picture at 5 weeks. Granted, I was so bloated that my waistline had already disappeared.

Today, for the first time, I can feel the start of an actual belly. It isn't showing yet at all, obviously, but I can feel that it is there. It is very exciting for me. I'm ready to look pregnant.

Here is my five week belly picture: (Can't believe that was six and a half weeks ago!)

We're Pregnant!

So.... I didn't want to start this blog until I felt like this pregnancy was real. But since I'm nauseous just about every morning and bloated like crazy, I'm thinking it's real. :)

Plus.... We got to see our baby!! (See first sonogram picture above)

Since I'm so late in starting this blog, here is a basic timeline on how it has gone so far:

December 3rd: Woke up and "felt" pregnant, so I took a test, and sure enough.... PREGNANT!

- I told a few close friends as soon as I found out. Couldn't keep it in! I kept running around the house screaming I'm pregnant! I'm Pregnant!! Aghh!!!

December 14th: My birthday! We told my parents today at dinner. (Had to explain why I couldn't drink the wine.lol) They are excited to have a 9th grandchild joining the family.

December 20th: We told the rest of my family today at Ashley's annual Christmas party.

December 24th: Christmas Eve! We had Christmas with Jason's family tonight and we told them all the good news. Everyone was very excited! This will be Jason's parents first grandchild.

January 4th: My first appointment! We got to see the heartbeat, but didn't get to hear it yet. Doc said she would be able to hook up a monitor to my belly at the next appointment and we would be able to hear the heartbeat.

February 1st: My 12 week appointment! Can't wait!
